Services on this website
Hosting
Our website runs on Microsoft Azure, in the Netherlands: your visits, and any comment you send, reach Microsoft's servers there, which handle them for us under Microsoft's data protection terms.
Visitor counting
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not identify or follow you across websites. For each visit it records the page, the referring website, your browser and device type and, from your IP address, your country, and we see totals only. See its privacy policy.
Comments
When you comment on a blog post we keep your name, your email address and your comment, in Microsoft Azure in the United Kingdom. We read every comment before it appears; once approved, your name and comment are shown under the post, and your email address never is. We use it only to reply to you about your comment. If you tick "Save my name and email", your browser keeps them on your device for your next comment, and nothing is sent until you comment. Ask us to delete a comment at any time.
Forms
When you send us an enquiry, ask us to call you back or sign up for our newsletter, our own forms service keeps what you enter, when you sent it and the address of the page you sent it from, in Microsoft Azure in the United Kingdom, and emails it to our team. It records no IP address or browser details and sets no cookies. We use what you send only to answer you, or to send you the newsletter you asked for, which you can stop at any time. A form loads only when you open it, or when you visit our contact page. Ask us to delete what you sent at any time.
